Svanehøj wins gasoline pump order for 15 LNG dual-fuel container vessels

Orders for dual-fuel LNG vessels broke all data in 2021 with a total of 240 ships globally. That is more than the earlier four years combined. And development seems set to proceed unabated in 2022.
According to knowledge from classification society DNV, orders for fifty six dual-fuel LNG vessels have been placed in January and February.This change in demand has created quite a buzz at Svanehøj. The Danish marine pump specialist quadrupled sales of its patented deepwell gasoline pumps in 2021, and there are numerous indications that sales might improve even further in 2022.
Svanehøj has simply secured an order for fuel pump methods for 15 dual-fuel LNG container vessels (7,000 TEU), which are to be constructed at Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding. The total of 30 deepwell gasoline pumps shall be delivered from August 2022 to January 2024. The order is amongst Svanehøj’s largest relating to LNG gasoline to date. It is the second time inside the last year that this buyer has chosen Svanehøj as the supplier of LNG fuel pump systems. In July 2021, they signed a contract for deepwell pumps for 10 dual-fuel LNG container vessels (15,000 TEU).

Large funding in lean manufacturing and new equipment

To support the green transition of the maritime trade, Svanehøj is presently investing greater than DKK 10 million in upgrading its production services in Denmark. A new manufacturing facility layout with manufacturing cells and robotics will help Svanehøj’s bold growth strategy and reduce lead instances for all products.
